Vex Cobo Hailing from the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago Vex Cobo is no stranger to West Indian music. Composing and performing his first song at the age of 11 for a school talent show, he quickly realized that he had a knack for the art form. After re-locating to Calgary he decided to pursue music more seriously, in particular Dancehall Reggae. His influences are wide ranging including legendary Reggae singers such as Bob Marley, more modern Dancehall singers such as Cutty Ranks, Shabba Ranks and Super Cat, current Dancehall artists such as Sean Paul, Collie Buddz , and Damian Marley, and even Hip Hop acts such as Nas and Rakim. Vex Cobo has also worked with such artists in Calgary as Jae Sterling, Meeghan Noelle and Reggaeton group Sonido Central. Currently working on his third album tentatively titled ‘Vextacy’ as well as promoting his second album ‘Vex Rated’, Vex Cobo spends his free time at his studio ‘The Warehouse’ honing his craft.
